Ease on down, ease on down the road . . .

I'm packed and ready to go!  Places with NO SNOW here I come!  I see Texas got snow again today and it darn well better be gone by the time I get there!  And the temps are only in the 50s & 60s but that is still better than below 0.  The only things we know that we are going to do is shop at Canton, go to Galveston and shop along the way!  Hate to take suitcases - less room for my goodies!

So, I will be gone from blogging for a couple of weeks.  I know that is a great inconvenience for all of you faithful readers (lol) but maybe I'll bring you back something!  And, if I win any giveaways while I'm gone (bigger lol), please wait for my return before giving up on me and choosing someone else!

So wish us a safe trip, good luck on finding my elusive dressform and think of me fondly as I leave my cares and worries at home.

Easing down the road . . .

It was the bestest day . . .

Looky, looky at what I got today.  A treasure box STUFFED with treasures and goodies!  Sue at Vintage Sue gifted me with all of this . . .

paper and lace and pictures, oh my . . .

buttons and magnets and bling, oh oh my!

It was such fun to open each and every package that was in the treasure box.  She actually sells boxes and boxes of this kind of ephemera!  Small, medium or large!  Just tell her what kind of things you love and she will more than surprise you with goodies galore!  I'm thinking that I need a medium box worth of stuff in the future!  Thank you Sue and thanks also to Shari at Pawsh Poodle Boutique

The next bestest thing that happened today is that I FINALLY got the wireless router to work!  So that means that my Ipod Touch (that I got from my honey for V day) FINALLY is hooked up to cyberspace!  Gonna need it for the trip to Texas.  I am such a complete computer idiot (although the wireless problem was NOT my fault).  The guy who helped me with the router also told me to download Spybot.  So I did and got all this advertising junk!  And then the computer didn't work!  So I unistalled stuff (was so afraid of erasing important stuff) and now it works again!  I feel that I did a good thing today AND I feel that I really need to go to computer geek school!

And the last bestest thing today . . . I'm close to 100 followers.  I feel a celebration de-stash giveaway coming.

Stay tuned . . .

PS  --  I could still use some ideas for my trip to Texas!  We are also going to Galveston.  Did you see the article in Flea Market Style magazine about Canton?  Now I am almost giddy with excitement!  My goal - to find a mannequin.  Do you think I will be lucky?

OWOH winner . . .

Malisa from Moonlight Hollow . . . come on down!  You, my dear, have been chosen by the random number generator (#32) to win the shadowbox I promised.  And I even finished it before the deadline!  I so hope that you will be happy with my little gift to you!

I want each and every one of you who left a comment (all 247 of you!) to know that I was thrilled to meet you.  I visited each of you and found many, many that I will visit again!  (No wonder I don't get anything else done!  Too much computer time!)  My fervent wish is that you will come back to my little blog, leave a comment and be a new blogging buddy!  This OWOH event was so much fun and has been a real eye-opener as to how many different artists there are out there and how much talent each one of you has!

She's dreaming big on several levels this year so please keep in touch . . .

To all of you who visit me . . .  Happy Valentines Day!  My wish for you is that you are spending the day with those you love and with those who love you!  (And a box of chocolates, flowers and diamonds wouldn't be that bad either!)

As for me -- I'm staying home with my honey (because it is another blizzardy day in Nebraska!) who is going to cook for me and be at my beck and call!

OWOH giveaway winner will be announced tomorrow.  Stay tuned . . .

I'm in need of Texas gals . . .

Okay all you gals in Texas.  I'm in need of your expertise.  We are planning (and it better go farther than just the planning stage!) on driving to Texas in the next couple of weeks.  I am in desperate need of where to go, what to do, what to see!  I am always reading about the fantabulous items you bring home from flea markets, antique stores and quaint little shops.  Tell me where!  Tell me when!  But most of all, just tell me!

I've heard of Canton's First Monday sale and plan on going there.  Tell me, is it as wonderful as it seems to be?  Is now the time to go or is it a summer thing (what am I thinking, Texas is summer-like all year 'round!)?  Is there anywhere else around Canton that is just to die for?

How about you northern Texans?  Where can I spend money on the way down through Texas?

Oh, and I guess I should ask about other things to do and see in Texas.  I can't tell my husband that it really is strickly a shopping trip for me.  We've been to the stockyards in Dallas (or is it in Houston?) and we are in love with San Antonio.

So, you can see my dilemma.  Planning an itinerary with interesting and exciting destinations for him and 'oh honey, look at that store, let's stop for just a minute' places for me.

C'mon Texas gals, help a Nebraska girl out.  If I don't get away from snow, ice and cold soon, I will start to scream and never stop!  Lesson to self:  remember the winter of 2009/10 and start checking out cruises in July!

Waiting with new vignettes in my head, spaces cleared out in my house and money in my hand  . . .

Kinda lovin it . . .

I love the idea of Valentines Day.  I really do.  But I don't do much decorating to celebrate the day.  Truthfully, I still haven't replaced the Christmas decorations with my everyday items (and yes, I am ashamed to admit this!).  This is the time of year that I am tired of the old and want everything new!  Unfortunately, all the emails I get saying I won the UK lottery are not true so THAT won't be happening!  Would like to take my living room in a different direction and it is easier to picture the way I want it to look without the distractions of what it is now.  Or at least that is what I tell myself.

But I did clip some vintage (they were my husband's and he would hate being considered vintage) valentines on a chip clip stand I recently aquired.

And I also found an interesting old scale.  I have old scales above my kitchen cabinets but I haven't climbed a chair to place this one yet.

I finished my OWOH giveaway shadowbox and will give you peeks of it soon.  It is NOT TOO LATE to enter if you would like.  I would love to get to know you!

Thinking of what to do for my honey on the big V day . . .
