Looking at lovely lighting . . .

. . . we recently visited a local renovated theatre.  Awestruck was my first emotion as I walked through the doors.  Opulent came to mind.  My eye constantly went up as I gazed upon the lovely lighting.

Yes, I realize that these are terrible, just terrible, photos but Connie needs to learn how to photograph in less than perfect lighting.  And she didn't notice what setting her camera was on before taking pictures.  I think she was overwhelmed by the beauty of her surroundings!  The photos look orangy but the colors were all deep red, creams, black and golds.  (Why are theatres always decorated in red?)

Just thought I would show you that Nebraska has some really, really fancy places!  We ain't all cornfields and barns!

ps ~~ I think there will be a wedding take place here this year!

  4. Gorgeous Connie! Love the "Chandies!"
Pehaps SOME day you and I can take some photography lessons together! Lord knows,,,lol, we BOTH need 'em!

Did you know this trivial fact about me? I am a "Certified Lighting Specialist",,aka "Certifiable,,,,but that is a whole other subject!

However, in my lighting days, I used to assemble the new Crystal Chandeliers! Ackk! We're talking a SERIOUS puzzles with all the swags and drops and pendants! I remember working on some fixtures for a whole day! And ahem,,,,Cleaning them once they were up in a lighting Showroom? Oh lordy! But I LOVE the bling and have an old french one over my dining room that I bought in France at a thrift store...for about $28 Euro.....28 bucks! Score!!!

Oh, and Okay Missy,,,,the Corset Comment,,,,I'll be more than happy to ship them to YOU for the Photos! HA!!

Love you to pieces and thanks for making me smile!

  6. I love all the glitz & glam of the theatre! I wonder if the red is to make us feel regal when we sit in the audience after paying over $100 a ticket? Not a complaint--I love the theatre & my Mom took us every summer when I was growing up. I recently took our daughter to see Phantom of the Opera & paid $90+ each...ouch!
