The lack of color . . .

. . . doesn't mean that spring is never going to come.  Green is a color, right?  We are in a state of green here.  Nothing is blooming yet.  Not even the lilacs.  When the lilacs flower, I know that spring has decided to stay.

I feel a little guilty telling you that I had the air conditioning on for one day and now the furnace is running.  I got to wear my beloved flip flops for awhile and now my feet are covered in socks.  At least I have been spared the agony of trying on last year's shorts for a few more days!

I like to see the greening up of things.  I still have the time to pretend that everything that I plan to get done is possible.  I can still dream of beautiful flower beds without noticing the plants that didn't survive the winter.  There is still time for them to poke their little sprouts through the ground.  I'm still thinking hopefully.

Hen and chicks never disappoint me.  They thrive in my little plots of land.

I'm oohing and aahing over all of the flower photos from the warmer climates.  But, for now, I'm content with my greens.  This color allows me a window of opportunity for wishing, dreaming and planning my own show of color!

Now, go check out what is green in your gardens and picture in your mind what is to come!

I can relate to your weather too, here in S.Ontario, Canada it's the same, it was hot yesterday and today it is freezing. Only flowers I have are from the garden center, love your greens too, I love to see the first sign of green after a long winter.

I'm wishing for some color here too, but for right now I'm happy with green. The trees barely have any leaves...we are probably about three weeks behind. Your photos look wonderful. Thanks for linking up :)

There is a lot of beautiful green in Minnesota, too! Thank God the sun is shining today. It is really beautiful...but cold! Longing for all those pretty colors that I see on other's blogs but isn't it nice not to see snow anymore???
Hugs,
