What does it feel like to have a summer birthday?

Well, I am about to find out!

If you have read this blog (and who doesn't?  it is full of witty retorts, exciting travel pictures and who can forget all the crafty items I have finished and shown, not to mention professional looking photos of my award-winning home?  okay, none of the above is true but . . .) IF you have read this blog for awhile, you know that my real birthday is in January.  After being snowed in AGAIN on my birthday, I officially changed it to July 7th.  When you are as old as me, you can do those things.  I made sure that EVERYONE knows and I even it wrote it myself on their calendars.  I am expecting HUGE things on that day!

I planned my own party.  Oh, it was going to be a doozy!  But plans changed.  My daughter and I will be road-tripping instead (but really, what could be better than that?)  Heading up to Minnesota to attend what is advertised as a big juried antique/craft show in Anoka and to see The French Flea occasional sale.  If you have been there, please tell me that it will be worth the 5 hour drive!

But anyway, back to my summer birthday . . .  I'm thinking that I should celebrate with all of my wonderful blogging friends.  I see that I am close to 100 posts and I have 143 followers (#144 - where did you go?  did I disappoint you in some way that you left me?  come back, #144, come back!).  I'll be doing ALOT of shopping in Minnesota (hear that IKEA?  I'm coming!) and I thought I would bring something home for somebody.  Be on the look-out for my 100th post to celebrate my summer birthday.  And wouldn't it be fun to have 150 followers by then too?  I think so!

The sparklers are ready, most of the poppers have already been popped and the potato salad is made.  4th of July traditions at my house.

Have a happy and safe holiday, my friends . . .

Oh My Stars Connie! How come I've never stumbled across YOU before????
I just read about 10 of your posts and alternated between laughing, wanting to cry, ooohing and ahhing over puppies and babies and your darling grandson, your yummy bags!

YOU are just like one big Hallmark Card with ALL the sentiments rolled into one wonderful blog!! Ackkk!

You'd best get "Used" to me girlfriend, I've signed on to follow your blogging adventures and other frivolities!

I'm thinking Jodie followed you just out of pity,,you know, "cut the gal a break, a blogger deserted her".....But I willingly JOINED! No pressure. I get bonus points right? I want that cute Black/Creme and Green bag you made! Because, WHAT are FRIENDS for?

I had one blogger desert me TOO,,,and the funny thing is I thought along the same lines as you! What did I do? How did I offend? "Wait, come back."

As for helping with your summer birthday,,,let's do something fun next year! Seriously! Thanks for your sweet comments and I'm SO glad I got to "meet" you on this grey rainy 4th here in Washington! We'll get sun tomorrow though,,,it's a given, day after the 4th our summer shows up! I'll have to do slug and snail patrol tomorrow!

Have fun at the show with your daughter! Now,,,,I'm off to introduce myself to Jodie,,,and see what she is up to. She keeps popping up on friends sites too! (And, I just LOVE Debra-Common Ground, Anne @Fiona I would like to adopt, but not sure how her family would feel about that!....Vicki at 2 Bags???
She's one of the dearest people that walks this earth!

Okay, this comment is a mile long and I'm sure you have better things to do than keep reading,,,,,But SO glad you found ME so I could find YOU!

Hugs and,,,,oh shoot I'm going to say it and I only say it to bloggers I've come to know pretty well....it's a family saying,,so I hope you feel honored not only about having your 145th follower,,,but ME saying it!
"Love you to pieces!"

Hi sweet friend from the corn fields!
Happy summer birthday to you! Yes, I say you do whatever you want! Celebrate it twice a year. A road trip to a great antique show sounds like a perfect party to me. You can buy as many presents as your car can haul home. Cuz it's your party & you'll shop if you want to! Whenever I make it back to our homeland for a visit I'm going to look you up & we'll go shopping. I hear they still have good farm auctions in your area. Have fun girl! Lisa
