I'm going to give up . . .

. . . on Pinterest.  Oh, it looks like a whole lot of photo fun!  I have boards galore ready for all those ideas that I see and want to remember where I saw them.  Ideas to try, ideas to buy, ideas that are too fabulous not to check out again.  Photography tips, freebies and how-tos.  Creative wedding invites, programs and stylings.  Books to read.  Shops to visit.  Vignettes to try.  I got a million of boards I'd love to fill.  But . . .

HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU PIN FROM A SITE?

I think the problem lies in the fact that I can't get Pinterest on my toolbar (what toolbar?)  I'm using Yahoo as my homepage and there is alot of gobbledygook on the top of the page but where do I drag the link to make this app work?

I'm assuming that it supposedly works like this -- I'm perusing my favorite blogs/websites.  Oh, I say, I must remember where this ________ is so I can come back and buy it/comment on it/send it to my daughter/copy put my own spin on it.  I'll just click on Pinterest on my toolbar and it will give me a magic link to transfer it to my whatever board.

Is that how it is suppose to work?  The only repinning I can do is from other members' boards.  And I don't know any other members.  If you have an account, would you care to share so I can visit?

I try to keep up on all of the latest computer trends.  Am I getting too old to be taught the simplest of app tasks?  Was there a secret class on how to Pinterest that I missed while I was saving photos the old fashioned way?  Is there an evil computer genie blocking my way to photo-saving bliss?

Pinterest = Frustration = Giving Up
(and I hate to let something like this get the better of me!  I'm not a quitter!)

Now, please if you can, help this poor blogger/wanna be a pinner out!

I got Pinterest on my tool bar after a few tries, but whenever I try to pin something lately the picture shows up on my board with a red x in the corner...kinda defeats the purpose.

oh no...don't give up! really...you'll LOVE, love, love it once you get the hang of it. when they sent you a response saying that you can register, they should have sent you a series of steps to "get started." One of the steps was to drag the link to your tool bar. go back and give it another try. check out my last blog post for a link to my Pinterest board. I really hope you try again!

oh and...you got the idea right....when you are on a site you like and see some pictures you want to "pin"...all you do is click on the pinterest link on your toolbar and all of the pictures from that sites' page will show up. when you move your curser over the picture you want, the words "pin it" show up and then it allows you to scroll through the boards you have so you can decide which one you want to pin it to. .

Don't give up - it's fantastic and I feel like I would be lost without it now! if you are on a pc (I am on a mac) in order to drop it in your toolbar, your bookmark favourites need to be visible. see http://pinterest.com/about/ - they explain it quite clearly. hope that helps you!

I see Pinterest all over blogland. People seem to love it. I read so many blogs I just don't have the time for something else so I haven't tried it yet. Good luck. I know someone will be able to help.

I have it on my tool bar but I am using Chrome so not sure if that makes a difference. And, I have only pinned like two pictures but both times it worked. Maybe try downloading Chrome or Firefox as your browser and then go to pinterest and load the tool bar app. But, don't give up. I'm pretty sure pinterest could be a great time waster :) One board I browsed had sooooo many good ideas and pictures I got nauseated because it was stimulus overload. (I'm not exaggerating, I had to quit looking and I haven't gone back yet.) But, I think I would just love to have my own boards filled.

I am of no help at all...sometimes my brain just hurts from all the thing that can be done..created..saved..learned.

I think I'll take a nap. That I CAN do :-)

Too funny! I've been for a visit to Pinterest and ya, it looks like a lot of fun and a HUGE sucker of time! I don't have enough time to keep current on my blog following, do I really want to get sucked into Pinterest?! Well, maybe. Looks like you got some help above so good luck.

Hi! I just googled about the same issue and ended up here - I can only repin at this stage, but I think it's worth persevering - it looks like so much fun. Persevere, I'd love to see what you pin!
